BETHLEHEM, Pa. — Winning on the road in conference is never an easy task, but the Elizabethtown College field hockey team made it look so Tuesday afternoon at Moravian. E-town hammered home five first-half goals and added two more in the second half to cruise to a 7-0 win over the Greyhounds. Alyssa Aichele registered her first career hat trick in the victory to go along with an assist.

Elizabethtown's (7-5, 3-1 Landmark) dominance was apparent from the get-go. The Jays scored twice in the first ten minutes, then twice more over the following ten minutes to take a commanding 4-0 lead.

Andrea Keady opened the scoring 5:41 into the game with her third of the season off Aichele's lone assist. Aichele then put in the first of her three nearly four minutes later. Nicole Leaf recorded the assist on Aichele's first tally.

Jacki Hikes made it 3-0 with her eighth of the season 12:23 into the Landmark contest. It was her fifth goal in the past six games. She also had at least a point in seven straight.

Aichele got her second of the game a little over three minutes after Hikes' goal, using an Allison McLamb assist for her 12th of the year. At that point, Elizabethtown had outshot Moravian (4-9, 0-3 Landmark) 19-0. McLamb then recorded her third of the year to make it 5-0 using an assist from Hikes.

The five first-half goals were the most in a single half of play this season for the Blue Jays. Starting goalie Margo Donlin did not face a shot and was replaced by Hannah Mack at halftime.

The Jays' offense did not let up, peppering Greyhounds' goalie Megan Kanyuk with five shots in the first four minutes of the second half and increased her save total to 13.

Kyla Rodrigues finally got off a shot for Moravian at the 40:12, the first of the game for the hosts. Mack then made back-to-back saves on Rebecca Hamel and Joselyn Vanic off Moravian's first penalty corner of the contest.

Moments later, E-town capitalized on the penalty corner of its own. Hikes inserted to Leaf, who fired off a shot that got blocked, but the ball came back to Leaf, who lined it up again and rocketed a shot into the upper left corner of the cage, her third of the season.

Emily Lindemuth entered the game at 54:34, her first action of the season and made a save on Rodrigues, her only one of the game.

With a few minutes left on the clock, Aichele completed her hat trick and jumped into a tie for the conference lead with 13 goals, taking a Dana Foedisch pass and tapping it in. It was Foedisch's first career point.

Elizabethtown finished with a season-high 42 shots, the most since firing off 59 in last season's 12-0 at Wolf Field over Ferrum.

The field hockey team will host Juniata on Homecoming Saturday at 1 p.m. in a key Landmark Conference game.
