ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. – The lone Elizabethtown men's swimming senior made his presence felt Wednesday night against McDaniel. Frank Capria won the 500-yard freestyle in a season-best 5:17.91 and set a new career-best in the 50 free with a time of 24.64, as the Blue Jays fell in their home finale, 117-47.

Though he didn't get in the pool for the 1000 free, one of his best events, after the teams opted not to swim the event on the men's side, Capria, a Northborough, Mass., native, was more than ready for the 50 free. He swam 24.64 to finish third behind McDaniel's Stevie Hoyt and teammate Kieran Koehler (24.49), but set a new PR, beating a 24.78 set three years ago to the day during his freshman season at King's (Pa.)

Capria really shined in the 500 free, where he shaved nearly eight seconds off his season-best by putting forth a 5:17.91 to win the event by more than 13 seconds. It was his fifth win of the season and first in the 500.

Freshman David Foery collected his eighth win of the season by holding off Brandon Bond in the 200 free with a time of 1:59.77. Foery swam the 200 individual medley for the first time this season and placed third in 2:13.44.

Conner Land had a pair of season-bests in the 200 free (2:18.66) and 100 free (1:02.65). Ethan Weber swam his top times in the 100 free (1:02.53) and 200 breaststroke (2:54.34). Freshman Clayton Leab was third in the 200 breast in 2:40.27.

Justin Allen was a three event winner for the Green Terror (1-7), claiming the 200 IM and the 200 breast, and playing a role in their 200 medley relay victory. Stevie Hoyt also won a trio of events, sweeping the sprint free races (50 and 100 free) and taking the final leg of the 200 medley relay.

Elizabethtown, which will face Frostburg State on the road Friday at 6 p.m. in its regular season finale, falls to 2-6.
