Sarah Cullinan enters her first year as an assistant coach with the Elizabethtown College women's lacrosse program after helping to craft the program's winning tradition as a player from 2008-11.
Cullinan holds the distinction as E-town's first IWLCA First Team All-America pick, an honor she received following a 51-goal, 47-assist senior season in 2011.
One of the most prolific scorers in school history, Cullinan led Elizabethtown to a 16-win season and another appearance in the Middle Atlantic Conference Finals during her senior year. Her 51 goals matched a career-high, and her 98 points were a new career benchmark and third most in a single season by any Blue Jay. Cullinan led the MAC in assists per game (2.35), while also ranking in the top five in both points per game and game-winning goals.
A dynamic two-way player throughout her career, Cullinan did far more than rack up the points. In 2011 she set new school records for ground balls (64) and caused turnovers (43) in a season. Cullinan finished her career as E-town's fifth all-time leading scorer with 224 points and joined an elite club comprised of only four other Blue Jays with 200 or more career points. She smashed the school's career mark for ground balls, finishing with 192 of them over four seasons.
Cullinan, from West Chester, Pa., was honored by the Middle Atlantic Conference in each of her four seasons in Blue and Gray. She was the MAC's Player of the Year and an All-MAC First Team pick as a senior, an All-MAC Honorable Mention choice as a junior and a two-time All-MAC Second Team selection (as a freshman and sophomore).
Prior to attending Elizabethtown, Cullinan competed in lacrosse, basketball and soccer at West Chester East High School, where she earned five varsity letters and was named All-Chesmont League First Team. She led East to three league championships and the 2007 PIAA girls' lacrosse championship.
Cullinan earned her bachelor's degree in business administration from E-town this past spring. She is currently attending Millersville University and pursuing a master of education in sport management.
