Prior to Elizabethtown: Spent freshman year at Division II East Stroudsburg University, where he was a reserve quarterback on the football team...Did not appear in any games for the 3-8 Warriors.

High School: Three-year letterwinner in baseball...First team All-Lancaster-Lebanon League pitcher as a junior and senior...Member of Elizabethtown Area High School's Section 2 championship team as a senior..On the gridiron, was a two-time All-LL League honorable mention pick at quarterback...Played in the Lancaster-Lebanon League All-Star Game...Chosen as football team's offensive MVP and captain as a senior...Earned one letter in basketball.
