Ali Cavanaugh joins the Elizabethtown College field hockey staff as an assistant coach in 2011, following a four-year playing career at the school. Cavanaugh started all 19 games for the Blue Jays during her senior season, scoring two goals to go along with two assists.

A midfielder from Orchard Park, N.Y., Cavanaugh was a regular in the starting lineup over the past two seasons. She made 48 starts over the course of her career, playing under former coach Sharon Sweger in 2007 and 2008, and for current head coach Brandy Michael in 2009 and 2010.

Cavanaugh found the back of the cage twice during her junior season. She scored the game-winning goal in a 3-2 victory at Alvernia on Oct. 3, 2009. Her first collegiate start came in 2008 as a sophomore against Juniata on Oct. 10, a game the Blue Jays won 4-0. She tallied twice more that season, including her first career game-winning goal in a 4-2 season-opening win versus Misericordia. Cavanaugh appeared in one game as a freshman.

Cavanaugh earned her bachelor's degree in health and occupation from Elizabethtown College in 2011. She's a fifth-year occupational therapy major, working toward her master's degree in the program.
