LANCASTER, Pa.-- The Elizabethtown field hockey team saw their first loss of the season as they were blanked, 6-0 to #16 Franklin & Marshall.
Lily DeBlasio made a career-high 15 saves in goal.
Etown fired off their two lone shots in the first quarter from
Hannah Long and
Mia Fino. Both shots were blocked by the Diplomats defense. The Diplomats went up 2-0 in the first quarter with their second goal coming in the final seconds. F&M tacked on two more goals to go into halftime with a 4-0 lead.
The Diplomats fired off a flurry of shots in the third quarter as they tallied a game-high of 15 shots. On several back-to-back shots, DeBlasio made crucial saves to keep the game within reach.. Early in the final quarter, the Diplomats scored their final two goals to win, 6-0.
Etown returns home on Wednesday, September 9 as they host Albright.
