GETTYSBURG, Pa. -- The Elizabethtown College women's soccer team was the last unbeaten squad among the Landmark Conference schools going into Wednesday's game at Gettysburg. The Bullets scored early and scored late to beat the Blue Jays, 2-0, and hand Etown the first loss of the season.
Gettysburg was able to limit Elizabethtown in the attack, only conceding a shot in the first half to the Jays.
Sky Shinnen had Etown's best chance at tying the game, which came in the 68th minute, but her shot was saved.
The Bullets scored off a loose ball on a corner in the first half and led 1-0 at half. They would score inside the final three minutes to ice the game.
Ella Smith made eight saves over 90 minutes for Elizabethtown.
The Blue Jays play at Penn State Berks on Saturday, September 19, at 12 p.m.
