ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. -- It was all Blue Jays on Saturday against Wilkes as the Elizabethtown College men's lacrosse team celebrated Senior Day ahead of its 23-2 win over the Colonels on Wolf Field. Five different players recorded hat tricks in the victory.
Reese Levinson and
Tristan Coleman had the assists on the first five goals of the game for Elizabethtown in the first quarter.
Finn Kristan scored 2:05 into the game, then
Tom Gress followed with consecutive goals.
Jay Rodriguez scored his first of three and then Kristan netted his second of the opening quarter as the Jays were out quickly, 5-0.
Etown went on to score nine in the first quarter while holding Wilkes scoreless.
After the Colonels got on the board, the Jays scored the final three goals of the half, coming from
Brent Wehland (twice) and Levinson. EC led 12-1 at the half.
Once again, the Elizabethtown defense kept Wilkes off the scoreboard in the third quarter, outscoring the visitors 6-0.
Tristan Coleman scored two of his three in the third.
Graham Lindsay found
Jay Rodriguez to secure his hat trick with just four seconds left in the third.
Alex Scholl had scored a last-second goal in the first.
Ben Zaitz,
Christian Schrader and
Max Coady combined on the win with Zaitz playing the first half, Schrader the third quarter, and Coady the final quarter. Coleman, Levinson, Rodriguez,
Tom Gress, and Kristan all had hatties for the Jays. Coleman had a game-high 8 points (3g, 5a).
Elizabethtown plays at Drew on Wednesday, April 15, at 6 p.m.
