Woolley & McClain Reach Milestones, Perrin Walks it Off for the Blue Jays against Catholic

ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa.—Down 5-1 after just the first inning, the Elizabethtown baseball fought back scoring in the third, sixth, seventh, and ninth to earn a thrilling 7-6 walk off win over Catholic.

Etown takes the series against Catholic as they defeated the Cardinals, 9-3 just two weeks ago. The Blue Jays move to 15-6, 7-4 on the season while Catholic falls to 12-12, 3-9.

Seniors David Woolley and Alex McClain also hit major milestones in the first inning of the game. Woolley scored the team's first run of the game to record his 166th career run which is a program record.
McClain hit a double for his 100th career hit.

Down 5-1 after the first inning, the Blue Jays were able to hold Catholic to six total runs. The Cardinals scored their sixth and final run in the third inning.  In the bottom half of the inning, McClain reached first with a walk. Kanakos smacked a triple down the right field line to score McClain.

In the sixth, Etown cut the Cardinals lead to 6-3. Mason Woolwine led off the seventh inning with a single to second and advanced to third on McClain's single to right field. A single by Kanakos brought Woolwine across home plate. Etown went into the bottom of the ninth still down two runs as they were able to hold Catholic in the top half of the inning.

Four singles and a walk was all it took for the Blue Jays to defeat Catholic 7-6 in the ninth inning. Dylan Pope, Parkers Summers, and AJ Lipscomb all knocked a single to even the score at 6-6. Down 0-2 in the count, Perrin was able to bring back the count to 2-2 before hitting a line drive down the left field line to score the winning run.
