WILLIAMSPORT, Pa.—With the Elizabethtown men's basketball team's 78-48 win over Lycoming the Blue Jays secured the fifth spot in the Landmark Conference Tournament. The team earns a spot for the first time since joining the conference.
Austin Finarelli led the team with 21 points going 8 for 13 in field goals while
Reese Ziegler totaled 12 points going 4 for 6 in 3-pointers.
Ben Stanton totaled 10 points.
The first half was tight to start after Ziegler sunk a three to make it 11-7. A minute later,
Zuri Harris made a three to double the Blue Jays lead to 14-7. From there Etown continued to pull away bringing their lead to double-digits.
EJ Finney made two back-to-back layups with just under seven minutes remaining. Three's from Stanton and
Woody Machado brought the score to 33-19. Going into the half Etown led 37-26.
Etown went on an 8-0 run to start the second half to pull ahead 46-26. With just under 10 minutes remaining a three from Finarelli extended the Jays lead to 63-37. Etown made three more three's to end the game with a 78-48 win.
Etown will travel to Wilkes in the first round on Tuesday.
