Long Records 100th Career Point in Moravian Win

ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. -- Senior Hannah Long recorded her 100th career point in the Elizabethtown field hockey team's win over Moravian. The Blue Jays clinched the fourth seed in the Landmark Conference Tournament as they defeated the Greyhounds 3-1. Long, Hailey Meyer, and Meadow Keet each registered a goal in the game.

Etown got right to work as Long got a goal just 1:16 into the game off an assist from Hailey Meyer to give the senior the last two points she needed to reach the 100 points milestone. Meyer found Long with a pass, and the senior fired a shot into the left corner of the goal.

Meyer added to her assist with a goal of her own with two minutes remaining in the first quarter. The junior received a pass at the top of the circle and dribbled it down to the goal, sending the ball between the goalie's pads to extend the Blue Jays lead to 2.

The Greyhounds scored their lone goal of the game at the 25:02 mark, making the game 2-1 going into halftime.

The third quarter saw little action, but the Blue Jays got back to work in the fourth quarter with another goal. In the 55th minute, Meadow Keet scored her first goal of the season, extending the Blue Jays' lead to 3-1 and helping secure the victory.

Etown controlled much of the game offensively, outshooting the Greyhounds 31-8 and holding an 11-4 advantage in penalty corners.

The Blue Jays will host Drew this Saturday, October 31th for the first round of Landmark Conference Tournament play.
