EDWARDSVILLE, Pa. -- The Elizabethtown College men's soccer team drew at Wilkes on Saturday to start off Landmark Conference play. Quinn Erb scored for the Blue Jays.

Elizabethtown nearly doubled up the Colonels in shot total for the game, 15-8.

The Blue Jays did get the lead in the first half thanks to Erb's goal, the first of his career. Caba Alvarez and Owen Auchenbach recorded assists on the play as the freshman put his squad ahead 1-0 in the 19th. 

An own goal helped Wilkes get level in the 31st minute. It went 1-1 into halftime.

The Jays were looking for the go-ahead in the second half, but Colonels' goalie Matthew Conti made a number of saves to deny them. Jude Ashley and Auchenbach had their shots on target stopped by Conti as they were unable to find the game-winner.

Sam Frey got the start and made one save in the game for Etown.

The Blue Jays will host Lebanon Valley on Wednesday, October 1, at 7 p.m.
