ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. -- Stevenson scored twice in 24 seconds early in the second half and the Elizabethtown College men's soccer team was unable to fully recover in Wednesday evening's 2-1 loss to the Mustangs at Ira R. Herr Field. Owen Auchenbach scored for the Blue Jays.

It was mostly a battle between the boxes for 90 minutes, though the game did pick up in the latter portions of the second half.

After leading 5-2 in shots at the half, Stevenson put home two in the span of 24 seconds, at 49:40 then 50:04, to grab a 2-0 lead in what seemed like the blink of an eye.

The Jays did pick up steam, especially after Auchenbach's goal in the 67th minute. A set piece found its way into a number of bodies in the box. The ball fell to the sophomore's feet and he was able to usher the ball into the net to get one back for Elizabethtown.

Aidan Valentine had an opportunity at goal in the 71st minute, but goalie Nolen Olsen-Warwick corralled the shot. It would be Etown's last on-target attempt as several other shots were blocked.

Pedro Miranda made three saves in goal for the Blue Jays.

Elizabethtown will be on the road Saturday, September 13, to take on F&M at 6 p.m.
