TOWSON, Md. -- The Elizabethtown College baseball team swept the Landmark Athlete of the Week honors as freshman,
AJ Lipscomb was named the Pitcher of the Week while junior,
Mason Woolwine was named the Athlete of the Week.
Lipscomb earned his second win on the mound this season as he helped the Blue Jays defeat Moravian, 7-1 on Wednesday. The freshman recorded a career-high eight strikeouts in seven innings of work while tallying 100 pitches. He only allowed one run and two hits.
Lipscomb currently leads the Landmark Conference with a 1.23 ERA on the season.
Woolwine went 9 for 18 on the week while helping the Blue Jays go 4-0 on the week, extending the team's win streak to eight games. Woolwine also added eight runs, a triple, two home runs, and three stolen bases. On Wednesday vs. Moravian, the outfielder went 3 for 4 with two runs, a season-high five RBIs, and his second career grand slam. On Sunday in the final game vs. Juniata he recorded his 100th career hit via a single. Woolwine is currently on a 16 game hit-streak with ten of those games including two or more hits.
The Blue Jays finish out their conference series at Catholic tomorrow, April 14.
