WINTER HAVEN, Fla. -- The Elizabethtown College softball team dropped two games on Tuesday at The Spring Games.
PITT.-GREENSBURG 9, ELIZABETHTOWN 3
Emma Dahl stole third and then scored on an error in the first inning for the Blue Jays before
Ali Williams singled to right center to score
Sarah Birner. Elizabethtown led 2-0 right away.
Pitt.-Greensburg scored seven runs over the first two innings to grab a commanding lead and didn't give it back.
Hannah Long tripled late in the game to score
Skye Zolomij from first. Dahl, Zolomij, and Long each had two hits in the game.
EASTERN 7, ELIZABETHTOWN 0
The Blue Jays were held in check by the Eagles.
Hannah Long had two of Etown's three hits in the game. Zolomij had a pinch hit single to right center in the seventh.
Scoreless through two innings, Eastern tacked on four runs in the third to get out ahead of the Jays.
The offense struggled to put anything together as the Eagles added two more runs in the fifth and one in the sixth.
Maddie Reever recorded her first career strikeout in the game.
Elizabethtown will face Bethany Lutheran and Emmanuel (Mass.) on Thursday, March 6, at 11:15 a.m. and 2 p.m.
