WINTER HAVEN, Fla. -- The Elizabethtown College softball team split its games on Thursday at The Spring Games. The Blue Jays lost their first to Bethany Lutheran before coming back and beating Emmanuel (Mass.) in their second.
BETHANY LUTHERAN 14, ELIZABETHTOWN 5
The Vikings scored in every inning but one and let 7-0 after their half of the second inning.
Ali Williams drew a bases loaded walk to put the Blue Jays on the board.
Down 12-2 in the fifth,
Sarah Birner drove in two runs with a base hit up the middle to make it 12-4.
Courtney Oliver's single to second brought home Birner and Etown was able to keep the game going.
BLS scored twice more in the seventh and closed out the game to win it, 14-5.
ELIZABETHTOWN 6, EMMANUEL (MASS.) 4
Skye Zolomij hit a one-out single in the top of the first to get a runner on for the Jays. She moved up to second on a caught foul ball to the catcher.
Jess Dunn drove her in for the two-out RBI single to give EC an early lead. Emmanuel got that run back and then took the lead in the second, 2-1.
A five-run fourth helped the Blue Jays pull back in front. Elizabethtown converted on some miscues by the Saints' defense.

Kristen Aydelotte with a base hit to right field.
Cassidy Blaskopf scored a play earlier on an error by the pitcher.
Hannah Long's RBI single to center made it 5-2 before the sophomore would score on another error in the inning. Etown led 6-2 after four.
Emmanuel scored two more runs, but it wasn't enough as
Mikaela Benner threw a complete game and earned the win.
Elizabethtown will play Gustavus Adolphus and Wentworth in their final day of games in Florida.
