ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. -- The Elizabethtown College men's lacrosse team bounced back from Wednesday night's tough loss to stay perfect in the Landmark with a 19-8 win over Lycoming at Wolf Field on Senior Day.
Colin Johnson tied his career high with six points and scored a career-best four goals in the win.
The Warriors went up 1-0 nearly two minutes into the game, but once Elizabethtown got going, they went.
Reese Levinson picked up Etown's first goal at 8:50 of the first, then off the ensuing face off, the Blue Jays were right back down the field with some crisp passing that led to
Finn Kristan setting up
Ben Clark at 8:33 to make it 2-1.
Lucca Scomillio and
Tristan Coleman scored exactly 10 seconds apart to quickly make it 4-1 at 7:11 and 7:01.
Scomillio completed a first-quarter hat trick and two of Johnson's four goals came in the high-scoring opener for EC. They led 8-1 after one.
After Lycoming got one back 57 seconds into the second, Etown scored the next four on goals from Kristan, Coleman (2), and
Jake Woodworth. The Jays led by double digits at the half, 12-2.
Nolan Krasnick,
Brent Wehland, and
Alex Scholl netted third-quarter tallies for Elizabethtown as they took an 11-goal lead into the fourth.
Alex Ly set up Wehland in front for his second of the game a few minutes into the final period of action. Less than two minutes later and down a man, Johnson was able to get close to goal and fire in his third of the day. Wehland assisted on his fourth with a little over six and a half in regulation. Ly, the senior, got his with under four minutes left to go.
Kyle Miller,
Brayden Franey, and
Christian Schrader combined for the win. Franey and Schrader each had three saves in the game.
Elizabethtown will play at Juniata on Wednesday, April 2.
