SCRANTON, Pa.-- The Elizabethtown baseball team closed out their three game Landmark Conference series at Scranton, Sunday falling 18-8 in eight innings.
The Blue Jays move to 9-8 on the season and 2-5 in the Landmark Conference.
David Woolley went 2 for 3 with one run and a RBI.
AJ Lipscomb went 2 for 4 with one run and a RBI.
Brady Hawkins went 1 for 1 with one run, a RBI and two stolen bases.
The Royals got on the board first, scoring two in the first before Etown tied it up in the third.
Alex Perrin and Woolley reached first via walks.
Quinten Perilli hit a RBI single to left field to score Perrin. Lipscomb singled to center field to score Woolley. Scranton regained the lead adding a run in the third before extending their lead to 6-2 in the fifth inning.
In the sixth, the Blue Jays came back within two of Scranton as
RJ Agriss and Woolley each recorded a RBI. The Royals took a commanding 14-4 lead tacking on eight more runs in the sixth. Elizabethtown grabbed two more runs in the seventh to bring the score to 14-6 as they scored on an error and ground out. Scranton responded with their 15th run in the bottom of the seventh before Etown added two more runs of their own. Hawkins hit a RBI-single to score the Jays seventh run and then would cross home on an error for Etown's eighth and final run. The Royals scored three more runs in the eighth to end the game on the 10-run rule.
The Blue Jays travel to Moravian for their first game of the series on Wednesday, March 26.
