McNulty named Landmark Women's Basketball Senior Scholar-Athlete

TOWSON, Md. -- Senior Summer McNulty was named the 2024-25 Landmark Women's Basketball Senior Scholar-Athlete on Wednesday. She is the fifth selection for the Elizabethtown College women's basketball team.

The Landmark Conference selects 23 senior scholar-athletes each year to recognize the top student-athletes in each sport based on academics and athletics.

The honorees must have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.20 and are selected by a committee of Landmark Conference officers, athletics directors, senior woman administrators, faculty athletic representatives, athletic communications, and diversity, ethnicity, and inclusion designee.

A mathematics major with a secondary education concentration, McNulty carries a 3.90 grade point average and has been recognized for her academic achievements throughout her career. A two-time College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District honoree (2022-23, 2023-24), she will be nominated once again for the 2024-25 season. Additionally, she is set to earn her third Landmark Conference Spring Academic Honor Roll selection.

On the court, McNulty has been a dominant force for the Blue Jays and one of the top players in the Landmark Conference over her career. A four-time All-Landmark selection, she earned First Team honors the last three years after a Second Team nod as a freshman in 2021-22. That same year, she was named the Landmark Conference Rookie of the Year.

Nationally recognized for her play, McNulty received back-to-back Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) Division III All-America Honorable Mentions and was named to the D3hoops.com All-America Fifth Team in 2022-23, followed by a spot on the site's Preseason All-America Fourth Team in 2023-24. She also earned D3hoops.com All-Region 5 honors twice, including a First Team selection in 2022-23.

A five-time Landmark Conference Athlete of the Week, McNulty's name is all over the conference's record books, ranking in the top 10 all-time in career points, points per game, field goals made, three-point percentage, free throws made, and games started. She graduates as the program's third all-time leading scorer and only one of three players all-time to record at least 1,600 points. McNulty totaled 1,609 points and her 15.0 points per game are sixth-best in program history.

Beyond basketball, McNulty has been an active leader in the Elizabethtown community. As the women's basketball SAAC representative, she has volunteered at Special Olympics swim meets, supported Elizabethtown Community Housing & Outreach Services (ECHOS), and contributed to food donation initiatives. She also gives back to her hometown, mentoring and coaching middle and high school players in Montoursville, Pa. Additionally, she has worked with the Elizabethtown College math department to assist with its annual high school math competition and has participated in Etown Cares and the Etown Civic Engagement Day of Service each year.

McNulty is the second straight Blue Jay to receive the Landmark Conference Women's Basketball Senior Scholar-Athlete award, joining current teammate and graduate student Jess King (2024). She is also the fifth overall and the fifth in the last decade, adding her name to an impressive list of Elizabethtown honorees that includes Emma Hoesman (2018), Lydia Lawson (2020), Veronica Christ (2021), and King.
