ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa.-- The Elizabethtown baseball team hosted Lebanon Valley in their home opener on a beautiful Tuesday. The Blue Jays rallied in the eighth scoring five runs but it wasn't enough as the Dutchmen won, 10-8.
Nate Moser went 2 for 3 with one run and two RBI's.
Quinten Perilli went 1 for 4 with two runs and a RBI.
Lebanon Valley got on top early with a 3-0 lead after the second inning. The Blue Jays scored their first run off a sacrifice fly to right field in th second. LVC tacked on four runs on six hits in the fourth to take a 7-1 lead.
After several scoreless innings, Etown gained momentum in the eighth scoring five runs on five hits.
Alex Perrin recorded the Blue Jays first hit of the day as he singles to second base.
Conlan Buletza then singled to shortstop. Perilli singled to right field to bring Perrin home. Moser hit a RBI-single through the right side to score Buletza bringing the score to 7-3. Via a walk the Jays scored their fourth run of the game.
Joe Limongelli knocked a 2-RBI single through the right side to bring Etown within one of Lebanon Valley.
In the top of the ninth the Dutchmen scored three more runs to bring their lead to 10-6. The Blue Jays scored their final two runs off a sacrifice fly and a RBI single.
Elizabethtown will travel to Wilkes this weekend for their first Landmark Conference series of the season.
