SWARTHMORE, Pa. -- The Elizabethtown College men's lacrosse lost at nationally-ranked No. 13 Swarthmore on Saturday in non-conference action.
Jake Woodworth and
Finn Kristan each had hat tricks for the Blue Jays in the loss.
The Blue Jays had a 2-1 lead with under four minutes left in the first, but four unanswered goals by the Garnet to close out the quarter gave them a 5-2 lead.
That goal scoring run extended to seven in a row for Swarthmore until
Reese Levinson set up Woodworth for his second of the game. Etown trailed 11-3 at the half. Woodworth had two of the Jays' three goals. Kristan had also scored in the first half.
Kristan and
Lucca Scomillio netted goals to cut the deficit to seven, 12-5, in the first five minutes of the third quarter. The Garnet scored three more times to get their lead up to 10 by the end of the third.
Landon Scully scored a man up for Elizabethtown in the fourth and Kristan and Woodworth also scored to complete their hat tricks.
Brayden Franey made 12 saves in the game for the Blue Jays.
Elizabethtown plays at St. Mary's (Md.) next Saturday, March 8.
