GRANTHAM, Pa. -- Ganon Smith won for the Elizabethtown College wrestling team on Saturday at the Messiah Invitational. In all, seven different Blue Jays placed at the invite.
Smith was one of three wrestlers to finish top three in his weight class. He beat Messiah's Austin Brass 4-3 via decision in the final to place first.
Will Davis was the runner-up at 197 pounds and
Justice Hockenberry took third at 165.
Placing fifth for Elizabethtown were
Roman Polcha at 125 and
Corey Cope at 133.
Deven Jackson finished sixth at 125, making it a pair of place finishers for the Jays at 125.
Gavin Fehr ended up sixth at 174.
The wrestling team will host their Alumni Night on Saturday, November 8, when they face McDaniel in a dual matchup in Thompson Gym at 7 p.m.
