ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. -- The Elizabethtown College men's soccer team drew with Susquehanna on Saturday, 1-1, at Ira R. Herr Field on Homecoming.

The first half was spent mostly between the boxes with teams trading possession of the ball. Sam Frey made two saves while Finn Kramer made one for the River Hawks, though neither keeper was too busy or challenged much.

Elizabethtown managed to grab the lead late in the first half off their second of two corners. Connor Kirchner lifted a left-footed ball toward the back post where Manny Velazquez was waiting unmarked. The sophomore stepped into a one-touch, right-footer guided into the right side netting to put the Jays in front with 35 seconds left before halftime.

The Jays and Hawks spent much of the second half like the first with both teams trying to establish possession between the 18s.

Susquehanna got level early in the second half as a loose ball came to a River Hawks player and he stuck it home to tie the game.

EC had two late corners with less than a minute to go, but couldn't get anything out of them as the clock hit zeroes and each team receiving a point.

Elizabethtown hosts Juniata on Tuesday, October 7, at 7 p.m.
