Adam Sheibley 2025

Sheibley Steps Down as Head Baseball Coach

ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa.—After leading the program for the past eight seasons, Elizabethtown College Head Baseball Coach, Adam Sheibley '09 will step down to focus on family.

"I would like to thank the Elizabethtown College community and Chris Morgan for giving me the opportunity to be Head Baseball Coach for the past eight years," Sheibley said. "Etown has been part of my life for 14 years and is a place I will always call home. One of the greatest joys in my life is watching my children play the sports they love and being there to celebrate their wins and encourage them through the losses. Due to this, I have made the difficult decision to step away and be with my family."

Over the course of eight seasons with the Blue Jays, Sheibley has compiled a 175-121 overall record. He has led the Blue Jays to six conference tournaments and three straight NCAA Tournament appearances. In 2022, the Blue Jays earned their first Landmark Conference Championship win since 2017. Early in the 2023 season, Sheibley earned his 100th career win.

"We are grateful to Coach Sheibley for his eight years of service to our baseball program, to the Athletic Department, and to the College," Elizabethtown College Director of Athletics, Chris Morgan '91 said.  "Under his leadership, our baseball student-athletes excelled both academically and athletically. We wish Adam and his family all the best."

Sheibley made an immediate impact on the program as the Blue Jays held an overall record above .500 in all but two seasons under his tutelage. In 2021, Sheibley led Etown to its best finish since 2017, guiding the Blue Jays to an appearance in the Landmark Conference Championship. The following year in 2022, Etown won its first Landmark Conference Championship under Sheibley.

The 2023 season was a year of records, milestones, and numerous awards. Sheibley earned his first-ever Landmark Conference Coach of the Year award, while senior, Ben Watson '23 was named the conference's Player of the Year and first-year, Quinten Perilli was named Rookie of the Year. The Blue Jays also had a program record nine student-athletes named to the All-Conference team. Four Blue Jays were named to the D3baseball.com All-Region team, and three were named to the ABCA/Rawlings All-Region team. Perilli was named the program's first D3baseball Region V Rookie of the Year, while Watson became the program's first D3baseball First Team All-American.

Sheibley led the team to another record-breaking season in 2024. The Blue Jays finished with a 33-14 record which tied for the most wins in a season in program history. Etown advanced to the Landmark Conference Championship game but ultimately fell short against Scranton. Etown went on to earn its second straight NCAA DIII Tournament At-Large bid and third straight trip to the Tournament. The Blue Jays went on to advance to the NCAA DIII Regional final in nearby Harrisburg, where they fell to Randolph-Macon- marking the furthest any Etown baseball team has advanced in the Tournament. Etown also was awarded back-to-back Landmark Player of the Year honors as sophomore, Quinten Perilli earned the honor.

During his eight seasons at Etown, Sheibley coached 45 All-Conference players, 33 All-Region players, and two All-Americans.

"To all the players I have had the pleasure of coaching, thank you for making this experience so great," Sheibley said. "I also want to thank my assistants, especially Coach (Jim) Tetkoskie and Coach (Eric) Yoder.  I am confident this program will continue to thrive and compete for championships year in and year out."

A national search to appoint the next Elizabethtown College Head Baseball Coach is currently underway.
