SCRANTON, Pa. -- The Elizabethtown College women's soccer team opened up Landmark play at defending champion Scranton on Saturday. The Royals beat the Blue Jays, 3-0, with three second-half goals.
Scranton had the better of the offensive numbers over the first 45 minutes. They outshot the Jays 10-0 in the first half, but
Adrienne McGallicher was able to keep the game tied with five first-half saves for Elizabethtown.
The Royals broke the scoreless tie a little over three minutes into the second half.
Scranton added goals in the 72nd and 84th minutes to ice it away.
Maddie McWhinney had the lone registered shot for Etown in the game.
Elizabethtown will have the week off before hosting Drew next Saturday, October 5, at 1 p.m.
