ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. -- The Elizabethtown College women's soccer team remained unbeaten at Herr Field on the season after a 0-0 draw with Drew Saturday afternoon in the Jays' first home Landmark Conference contest.
Drew had an early chance from Maggie Speckhart within four minutes of kickoff, but goalie
Adrienne McGallicher was on it to make the save. McGallicher made another save late in the half to keep it 0-0 as she stopped Sophia Lara's on-target attempt with 26 seconds remaining.
Etown had three first-half shots, but each missed the mark.
Ava Whisten was closed to her fifth of the season in the 54th minute, but Sarah Crowley got her hands on the senior's opportunity to prevent the Blue Jays from taking the lead.Â
Neither side could really rest the other's keeper. McGallicher made a few more saves in the second half, but those shots came from outside the box and were more easily corralled by the senior goalkeeper.Â
Drew's Alexa Krause had a last-second attempt to score, but it was denied with a few seconds left as time ran out and the game finished deadlocked at 0-0.
McGallicher finished the game with five saves for her first shutout of the season.
Elizabethtown will play at Juniata on Wednesday, October 9, at 7 p.m.
