LANCASTER, Pa.-- The Elizabethtown field hockey team took a short trip over to Franklin & Marshall, Wednesday at Tylus Field. The Blue Jays fell, 4-0 to the Diplomats.
Franklin & Marshall struck in the first quarter about midway through as the shot came from the right past the goalie. F&M held Elizabethtown to zero shots while taking 14 of their own. The Diplomats really got going in the second as they added three more goals in about four minutes.
Lily DeBlasio would make four saves int he second quarter as she would go on for a career-high nine saves in the goal. The Blue Jays were able to get off two shots before the half but both were unsuccessful making it to the net.
The Diplomats held control through the final two quarters tallying 14 more shots while earning four more penalty corners.
Rachel Murphy made six saves in the goal for the Blue Jays in the second half.
Elizabethtown is back on the road this Saturday, September 14 at 4PM as they travel to Albright.
