SCRANTON, Pa.-- The Elizabethtown baseball team grabbed their 30th win of the season in a 12 inning marathon against Susquehanna in game one of the Landmark Conference Championship Tournament.
Riley Thomas walked it off in the 12th with two outs on an RBI-single.
Mason Woolwine led the Blue Jays going 4 for 6 with three RBIs, and two doubles.
Quinten Perilli recorded his 100th career RBI and went 2 for 5 with four runs.
Zach Silfies earned his seventh win of the season as he pitched four innings while striking out three.
Susquehanna got hot early scoring five runs in the second and from there it was all Etown as they scored at least one run in the next four innings to tie up the game at 5-5.
Logan Burns came in at relief, pitching five innings while only allowing one River Hawks hit and also striking out five. Elizabethtown scored their first run of the game in the third as
David Woolley singled to second and was brought home on a Woolwine double to left field. Etown picked up another run in the fourth to trail by three against Susquehanna.
Joe Limongelli reached first via a walk and then advanced on
Garrett Schwartzbeck's single. On a fielder's choice, Limongelli scored.
Elizabethtown continued to close in on Susquehanna as they tacked on their third run of the game in the fifth off a sacrifice fly. In the sixth, Perilli and Woolwine would each hit a RBI-single to tie up the game, 5-5. After a scoreless seventh it became a back and forth battle between the Blue Jays and River Hawks. Susquehanna re-took the lead in the eighth before Etown responded to tie up the game at 6-6 in the bottom half of the inning. Woolley reached first via a walk then advanced on a failed pickoff attempt. Woolwine hit his third RBI of the game to bring Woolley across home plate.
Susquehanna then scored their final run of the game in the ninth and of course the Blue Jays responded to again tie up the game. Going into extra innings, the 10th and 11th innings were scoreless until Etown broke through. Woolley again reached first on a walk and would advance to third on a single and then a fly out. After a River Hawks pitching change, Thomas knocked a single to right for the walk off win to score Woolley.
Elizabethtown will face the winner of the Catholic, Scranton game tomorrow at 2:30 pm.
