ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. -- The Drew Rangers brought the offense in Saturday's doubleheader at The Nest with the Elizabethtown College softball team. The Blue Jays were unable to match the production and fell in five innings in both games to Drew.
Hannah Long had a team-best three hits on the day.
The Rangers hit a pair of three-run home runs in the third inning to really take control of the game after they were already ahead 1-0. They tacked on five more in the fourth and one in the fifth.
Brooke Huczko hit an RBI double to left center to score
Olivia Prosser in the fifth, though Drew won in five innings, 13-1.
Game two didn't go much better as the Rangers continued their hitting from game one. Drew led 3-0 after one while the Blue Jays continued to struggle at the plate.
Maddie Reever had a pair of doubles in the game, but she was stranded each time as the Rangers held the Jays scoreless.
Drew score runs in the third, fourth and fifth innings again and ended it early with an 8-0 victory to take the sweep back to Madison, N.J.
Elizabethtown will host its makeup doubleheader with Catholic tomorrow with games at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.
