LANCASTER, Pa. -- Franklin & Marshall outscored the Elizabethtown College men's lacrosse team in each of the first three quarters on their way to a 19-10 win over the Blue Jays.
Gavin Gismondi had a team-high five points in the game,
Brayden Franey stopped a season-high 18 shots.
Elizabethtown led early on
Joey Killpatrick's goal at 11:43 as
Tristan Coleman found the senior for the goal. F&M would reel off three straight to take the lead into the final minute of the first. Gismondi assisted on
Colin Kondracki's goal with 50 seconds left to go in the opening quarter and the Jays trailed 3-2 going into the second.
Franklin & Marshall outscored Etown 7-2 in the second and took a 10-4 lead into halftime. Gismondi and Coleman had the goals in the quarter for EC. Coleman and
Riley Langen had assists on the goals.
The Diplomats put forth another strong quarter in the third as they increased their advantage plus-four with a 6-2 third-quarter scoring edge. Kondracki and Gismondi tallied Elizabethtown's goals in the third as they trailed 16-6 heading into the fourth.
The Blue Jays got back within seven after getting the first three of the fourth. Kondracki, Coleman and
Jake Woodworth each had goals in the first three minutes to make it 16-9. F&M answered with three consecutive to re-establish the ten-goal cushion. Gismondi scored a man-up with 2:07 to go (
Alex Kilgour assist). The senior finished with a hat trick to go along with two assists to lead the Jays offensively.
Elizabethtown will play at Widener on Wednesday, March 20, at 7 p.m.
