TOWSON, Md. -- Senior
Jessica King becomes the fourth student-athlete for the Elizabethtown College women's basketball team to earn the Landmark Conference Women's Basketball Senior Scholar Athlete.
King is the first to earn the distinction since Veronica Christ in 2020-21 and the fourth overall for the Blue Jays.
King had a career-year for Elizabethtown on the court and was selected as an All-Landmark Honorable Mention, her first all-conference honor, after nearly averaging a double-double for the season at 9.3ppg and 9.1rpg. She had five double-doubles on the season with 13 games of at least 10 rebounds or better. King netted a career-high 20 points twice for the Jays.
Academically, King sports a 3.97 cumulative grade point average as an Occupational Therapy major at the College. She will be a three-time Landmark Conference Spring Academic Honor Roll selection and was named College Sports Communicators Academic All-District a year ago with another opportunity in 2023-24.
An Emergent Scholar in 2022, she also served as a team captain this past season for the Jays.
King has also been involved in the volunteer service space, earning hours through packaging food at UNTO, packing school supply kits and making blankets for kids in the Elizabethtown community. She has also been involved in Special Olympics and delivering food to ECHOS.
