ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. -- The Elizabethtown College men's lacrosse team opened up its 2024 season Wednesday evening at Wolf Field, but Washington (Md.) spoiled the night as the Shoremen beat the Blue Jays, 15-9.

Ryan Flanegan put Elizabethtown (0-1) up 2:54 into the game as the Jays took advantage of their man-up situation with Riley Langen one of his team-high four assists to Flanegan for the goal.

The Shoremen racked up five straight goals to take a 5-1 lead into the final minute of play before Joey Killpatrick put a second on the board for Etown. Washington (Md.) (1-2) led 5-2 after one.

WC kept its momentum rolling as they outscored Elizabethtown 5-1 in the second to take a commanding 10-3 lead into halftime.Gavin Gismondi tallied his first goal of the season in the second quarter.

Nolan Krasnick got his first point in a Jays' uniform with the helper on Levinson's goal. Gismondi added his second of the evening at the end of that 3-0 spurt to make it 13-8.

Washington (Md.) took advantage of the aggressive from the Elizabethtown defense late as Brayden Franey came out of goal to help defend. Luke Brennan and Parker Barta were each able to net goals. Kilgour completed his hat trick with 25 seconds left on Etown's second man-up goal of the night as the game finished 15-9.
