ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa.—The Elizabethtown wrestling team hosted Shippensburg in the team's 2024-25 season home opener, defeating the Raiders, 27-17.
Kale Quigley opened up the match at 125 pinning Shippensburg at 2:03.
Corey Cope extended the Blue Jays lead to 11-0 with a tech fall at 133. Etown kepts its lead after
David Panone recorded a tech fall victory at 141.
Shippensburg won the next three tying up the match at 14-14. The Raiders then won by decision at 174.
Ganon Smith hit a quick pin at 0:52 giving back Etown the 20-17 lead. At 197,
Will Davis won 5-2 by decision. At 285,
Jimmy Yeingst won 10-2 by major decision to give the Blue Jays the 27-17 win.
Elizabethtown will compete in the Racich Rumble on Saturday, November 9 hosted by Ursinus.
