Women's basketball gets non-conference win at Lebanon Valley

ANNVILLE, Pa. -- The Elizabethtown College women's basketball pulled away from Lebanon Valley in the fourth quarter after the Dutchmen made a run to get back into it after the Jays held a double-digit halftime lead. Etown got the non-conference win, 72-65.

The Blue Jays utilized their height advantage in the post as DaniRae Renno posted 14 first-half points on 7-for-9 shooting. 26 of the Jays' 40 first-half points came in the paint. Summer McNulty added eight for Etown. Cyleigh Wilson added to her program record three-point total with two more treys coming over the span of a few minutes.

Lebanon Valley held its own in the first quarter, only trailing by six after one, 17-11. The Dutchmen used 14 Etown turnovers and converted those into 13 points to hang around.

The Jays controlled the play in the second quarter as they outscored LVC, 23-13. They held Lebanon Valley to 10-for-33 shooting in the first half. Grace O'Connor had a team-high six rebounds.

Normally a staple for Elizabethtown, it was LVC that ran the third quarter as they got back into the game and knocked their deficit down to just six points heading into the fourth quarter at 52-46.

Coming off a big win via point differential on Saturday against Lycoming, the Jays were tested for a second straight weeknight game after they held off No. 12 Catholic last week. The Dutchmen pushed the Blue Jays and came within two, but Renno and McNulty hit some big shots and free throws down the stretch.

McNulty finished with a game-high 23 points. Renno added 18 points and six rebounds. O'Connor ended the game with a team-best nine boards.

Elizabethtown will host Juniata on Wednesday, December 4, at 7 p.m.
