WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. -- The Elizabethtown College women's soccer team fell 1-0 on the road at Lycoming in the regular season finale. The Blue Jays finish as the third seed in the Landmark Conference with 15 points.
A win would have shifted the spots between Lycoming and Elizabethtown, giving the Blue Jays a one-point edge in the standings with those three points.
It was the Warriors that connected early on a goal as Sydney Sellers scored in the fourth minute and Lycoming was able to make that goal stand over the final 85 minutes.
Etown wasn't able to generate much in the first half, only registering one shot, but woke up in the second half in an effort to at least get level.
The Blue Jays put seven of their 10 second-half shots on frame, but Riley Block stopped all seven in order to keep EC scoreless.
Elizabethtown had two opportunities in the final five minutes, but couldn't find a way past Block.
The Blue Jays will host a first round game on Tuesday, November 5, at 7:30 p.m. They will host the sixth seed, Moravian. The two teams battled to a scoreless draw at Ira R. Herr Field on October 23.
