ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. --Â Moravian scored in the second overtime to advance to Thursday's Landmark semifinal after a 1-0 win against the Elizabethtown College women's soccer team Tuesday night at Ira R. Herr Field.
Moravian had the better of the play in the first half and outshot Elizabethtown 7 to 1.
Ella Fasnacht recorded the Blue Jays' lone shot, on goal, but saved by Riley Spingler.
Like their regular season matchup a few weeks back, the game went into halftime tied 0-0.
Etown picked up the urgency in the second half and flipped the shots advantage in their favor. They just weren't able to beat Spingler.
Maddie McWhinney,
Caleigh Bold, and
Kayla Myer each had attempts on goal in the second half.
After another scoreless 90 minutes, overtime was necessary to decide the night's winner. Neither side scored through the first 10 minutes.
Carly Pyatt was able to slip a ball into the net in the second overtime to send the Greyhounds to Thursday's Landmark semifinal.
