WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. -- The Elizabethtown College men's soccer team dropped its regular season finale at Lycoming on Saturday, 1-0. The Blue Jays will end as the sixth seed in the Landmark Conference playoffs.
It was more of a defensive battle in the first half as both teams only combined for six shots total; four for Lycoming, two for Elizabethtown. Three of the Warriors' shots were on target and saved by
Pedro Miranda, the other went off the crossbar.
Thomas Smith had the Jays' lone shot on goal that was stopped as it went scoreless into halftime.
Lycoming was out to quick start in the second half as they took the lead just 50 seconds out of the break.
Hudson Peck and
Pedro Guizardi had shots saved in the 63rd and 65th minutes as Etown tried to answer.
Gui Yamamoto's chance in the 78th minute was the final shot on frame for the Jays as the Warriors were able to see out the game to clinch the fifth seed with the win.
Elizabethtown will play at Moravian, the third seed, on Tuesday, November 5, at 7 p.m.
