WILLIAMSPORT, Pa.-- The Elizabethtown field hockey team ended their first Landmark Conference game of the season in a dominant fashion as they defeated Lycoming, 3-0.
Megan Meyer tallied her first career goal while
Rachel Troutman tallied her first career assist.
Drew Bridges recorded her first-ever multi goal game.
Etown broke through with four minutes remaining in the first quarter as Troutman assisted on the play in a scrum as Meyer lifted the ball in for the first Blue Jay goal. Elizabethtown really got going in the second quarter as Bridges scored her first of two goals into the left corner from the right side. Through two quarter, Etown did not allow a Lycoming shot. The Warriors were able to take two corners in the first quarter while Etown took six corners through the half.
The third quarter was scoreless but Lycoming was able get off two shots, both of which were saved by Etown goalie
Angelina Giglio-Tos. The Blue Jays weren't done yet, just a minute into the fourth quarter, Bridges tallied her second goal into the left corner. Through the rest of the quarter, the Blue Jays held possession; not allowing a Warrior shot.
Elizabethtown moves to 3-2 on the season and 1-0 in the Landmark. Lycoming falls to 2-3, 0-1.
The Blue Jays continues their road trip as they travel to Wilson on Wednesday, September 20 at 5 PM.
