EDWARDSVILLE, Pa. -- The Elizabethtown College softball team held leads in game one but couldn't put Wilkes away before falling in game two as the Colonels took two from the Blue Jays on Wednesday in non-conference action.
GAME 1: WILKES 10, ELIZABETHTOWN 9 (F/10)
Wilkes (16-4) led 2-0 after one, but the Blue Jays chipped away with runs in the second and fourth innings.
Megan Thomas doubled in
Maddie Reever in the second and
Paige Phillips scored
Ashley Mistichelli in the fourth to tie the game 2-2.
Then, down 4-2 after five, Elizabethtown (7-15) put up a four-run sixth to grab their first lead, 6-4.
Haley Nedo, Thomas, and
Ashley Judd each had RBI base hits for the Jays.
Brooke Huczko's sacrifice fly gave Etown their fourth run of the inning. The Colonels answered right back with two runs to tie the game going into the seventh.
While neither side would score in the seventh, the game headed to extra innings.Â
In the eighth,
Jenna Davis scored on a wild pitch to put Elizabethtown back in front, only to have Wilkes retie the game in the bottom of the eighth.Â
Mistichelli hit an RBI single to score
Grace Hussey, one of her three hits in the game, as the Blue Jays went back in front. Again, Wilkes was able to tie it and force a tenth inning.
Judd recorded her second RBI of the game with a ground out to short to score Reever. This time, the Colonels were able to end up with two runs in the bottom of the tenth to get the 10-9 win.
Mistichelli led the team with three hits while Thomas and Judd both had two RBIs in the game.
GAME 2: WILKES 11, ELIZABETHTOWN 3 (F/5)
The Blue Jays trailed 5-0 through three innings before Reever's two-RBI single in the fourth. Mistichelli also scored in the inning, coming home while a play was being made at first.Â
The Colonels then scored four runs in the bottom half of the inning to go ahead 9-3. In the fifth, they posted two more to end it in five, 11-3.

Kristen Aydelotte, Mistichelli, Reever and Judd each had hits in game two for the Jays.
The softball team will travel to Drew on Saturday, April 8, for a Landmark doubleheader with the Rangers at 1 and 3 p.m.
