READING, Pa. -- The Elizabethtown College softball team dropped its non-conference doubleheader at Alvernia on Tuesday.
Megan Thomas had an RBI in each game for the Blue Jays.
Game 1: Alvernia 3, Elizabethtown 1
Thomas, who has three RBIs in her last four games, got Elizabethtown (7-25) on the board in the sixth inning to cut the Jay's deficit to two, 3-1.
Alvernia (14-10) had scored a run in the first, second, and fifth innings to take a 3-0 into the sixth.
Kristen Aydelotte and Thomas were each 2-for-3 at the plate for Etown in opening game.

Grace Hussey and
Gillian Toomey also had hits in the game for EC.
Game 2: Alvernia 13, Elizabethtown 1 (F/5)
This time, Thomas put Elizabethtown ahead first with a sac fly RBI to tie her single-season best in RBIs. It was her second RBI of the day as the Jays were up quick, 1-0.
The Golden Wolves struck back in the bottom half with four runs to take a 4-1 lead. A big third inning put the hosts up 12-0.
After registering eight hits in game one, the offense was subdued by the Alvernia pitchers, only allowing three hits to the Blue Jays in game two. They also did not allow a run to Etown after the first.
Brooke Huczko,
Mikaela Benner and Hussey had the hits in the second game for EC. Alvernia tacked on a run in the fourth and won the game in five innings, 13-1.
The softball team will host Neumann on Thursday, April 20, at 3 and 5 p.m.
