ANNVILLE, Pa. -- Lebanon Valley was able to beat the Elizabethtown College softball team in a pair of non-conference games on Tuesday. The Dutchmen hung on for a game one win before getting the sweep with a three-run victory in game two.
Kristen Aydelotte hit her seventh double of the season, tying her for the most on the team.
GAME 1: LEBANON VALLEY 4, ELIZABETHTOWN 3
Elizabethtown (7-19) trailed 4-0 after two innings when Aydelotte worked to rally the Blue Jays. Her RBI double in the third made it 4-1. An inning later, the sophomore singled in a run to make it 4-2.
Emily Polimeni scored on both of Aydelotte's RBI hits.
Ashley Mistichelli also had two hits in game one, like Aydelotte, and one included an RBI base hit in the fourth as Etown got within a run, 4-3.
The Jays were held off the board over the final three innings as Lebanon Valley (20-4) hung on for a 4-3 win.
GAME 2: LEBANON VALLEY 4, ELIZABETHTOWN 1
LVC jumped ahead of the Blue Jays 2-0 in the first and then went up 3-0 with another run in the third.
Maddie Reever picked up an RBI in the fourth to make it 3-1, but it's the only run Elizabethtown would be able to manufacture.
The Dutchmen added a fourth run in the fourth and went on to win 4-1.
The softball team will host Messiah on Thursday, April 13, at 3 and 5 p.m.
