Blue Jays take down Scranton, Kilgour reaches 100 career points in win

SCRANTON, Pa. -- Colin Cummings had a team-high four goals as the Elizabethtown College men's lacrosse team went on the road to beat Scranton 13-8 on Saturday. Alex Kilgour scored twice to reach 100 career points for the Blue Jays. Brayden Franey had 18 saves in goal to get the win for Etown.

Colin Kondracki scored a man-up early in the game for Elizabethtown (6-4, 2-0 Landmark), but the Royals scored two consecutive to grab their first lead of the game at 2-1 with 11:51 left in the first.

Kilgour tied the game at 7:45 with his first of the afternoon and then Connor Stewart gave the Jays the lead back a little over a minute and a half later. That would end up giving Etown the lead for good the rest of the way.

Cummings made it 4-2 and Derek Baldwin closed out the first quarter as the fifth different goal scorer for the Blue Jays. They took a 5-3 lead into the second.

Scranton (7-4, 1-1 Landmark) scored early in the second to get back within a goal, but that's all the Jays' defense would allow for the quarter. Franey only needed to make three saves in the second. Elizabethtown outscored the Royals 3-1 and led 8-4 at the half.

After Scranton had gotten back within three, twice, Baldwin and Kilgour scored back-to-back goals to make it an 11-6 game. Kilgour's goal was his second of the day and 100th career point. Cummings notched his hat trick to finish out the third. He also had the Jays' goal in the fourth.

Jacob Griffing won 21 of the 23 faceoffs. His FO win total tied him for the fifth-most in a single game in program history. He also had 16 ground balls, the third time he's recorded 16, which is tied for the second-most in a game for the Blue Jays.

Cummings led the way with five points (4g, 1a) while Baldwin also had a hat trick for the Jays. Ben O'Connor and Joey Killpatrick each had goals for Etown. Killpatrick added two assists while Riley Langen also registered an assist.

Elizabethtown will host Susquehanna on Saturday, April 8, at 1 p.m.
