ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. -- The Elizabethtown College men's lacrosse team suffered their first defeat of the season on Saturday at the hands of Stockton. The Ospreys took the non-conference contest 20-15 at Wolf Field.
Riley Langen led the Blue Jays with seven points (5g, 2a).
Elizabethtown (1-1) found themselves down 5-1 in the first.
Alex Kilgour and
Gavin Gismondi got the Jays back within two with consecutive goals. Stockton (2-0) led 7-4 after one quarter.
Langen and
Connor Stewart assisted on back to back goals for
Ben O'Connor in the second to get Etown within 10-8. O'Connor's second of those two came a man up. The Blue Jays trailed 12-9 at halftime.
Kilgour, Langen, and O'Connor each had third-quarter goals as Elizabethtown outscored the Ospreys 3-2.
Down 16-12 early in the fourth, Langen, Kilgour, and Stewart each scored consecutively as the Jays pulled within a goal. Stockton would score the final four goals of the game to get out of Wolf Field with the 20-15 win.
Brayden Franey made 20 saves in goal for Etown.
The men's lacrosse team will play at Washington (Md.) on Wednesday, March 1, at 6 p.m.
