ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa.-- Three Elizabethtown women's volleyball players were named to the 2023 College Sport Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team, announced Tuesday. Senior,
Kambrie Hepler along with juniors
Emma Bitner and
Savannah Lesley were named to the All-District team.
By making the All-District team, they will be forwarded onto the national ballot to try for CSC Academic All-America accolades, which will be announced January 9, 2024. Academic All-District® honorees were considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. Student-athletes selected as
CSC Academic All-America® finalists are denoted with an asterisk and will advance to the national ballot to be voted on by CSC members. To be eligible for CSC Academic All-America® honors, a student-athlete must maintain at least a 3.50 grade-point average, be a sophomore, junior or senior and be a starter or significant reserve.
Hepler most recently earned her second Landmark All-Conference honor in her career. She ended the 2023 season with 577 digs and 5.89 digs per set. On Oct. 21, Hepler surpassed 1,500 career digs at Lebanon Valley. The York, Pa. native, tied a career-high 38 digs vs. Washington & Jefferson (9/16). Hepler also led the team with 45 service aces and was third on the team in assists with 71.
Bitner appeared in 28 matches while playing in 92 sets as she totaled 608 assists and 227 digs. On Nov. 11, Bitner recorded her 1,000th career assist. She tallied a career-high 42 assists and 21 digs vs. Stevenson on Oct. 16.
Lesley totaled 209 kills and 180 digs in 28 matches. She recorded 24 total blocks and registered four double-doubles this season. Lesley tallied a career-high 21 kills at Dickinson on Sept. 16.
Off the court, Hepler has made the Dean's list every semester at Etown and was named an Emergent Scholar. She is an Alpha Lambda Delta member and a recipient of the Presidental scholarship. Bitner has made the Dean's list every semester at Etown. Lesley has also made the Dean's list every semester along with being named an Emergent Scholar. Lesley also is a member of the Delta Mu Delta Honors Society and earned the Delta Mu Delta scholarship along with the PICPA scholarship.
Hepler, Bitner and Lesley add to the program's four Academic All-District honorees, bringing the Etown total to seven.
