SELINSGROVE, Pa. -- The Elizabethtown College men's soccer team's unbeaten run in the Landmark came to an end Saturday afternoon with a 4-0 loss at Susquehanna.
The River Hawks jumped ahead 1-0 in the seventh minute on Owen Kaar's goal. Then, just another minute later, Max Paczewski's first of three in the game made it 2-0 for Susquehanna (3-6-2, 1-3-0 Landmark). Paczewski would make it 3-0 in the 15th minute as the River Hawks scored three times on only five first-half shots.
Pedro Guizardi and
Pedro Vinent had the first two opportunities on goal for Elizabethtown (5-4-2, 3-1-0 Landmark). Their shots in the 22nd and 24th minutes were each saved by goalie Tony Burns.
Susquehanna made it 4-0 early in the second half, scoring just 3:46 after the whistle as Paczewski completed his hat trick.
The Blue Jays had the second-half edge in shots, 7-2, and for the game in total, 11-7, but were held without a goal for only the third time this season.
Etown will look to get back on the winning track Tuesday night at home against Catholic at 7 p.m.
