SELINSGROVE, Pa. -- Susquehanna put home a late goal to down the Elizabethtown College women's soccer team on Saturday in the Landmark Conference opener for both teams.
Trinity Soto had seven saves in goal for the Blue Jays.
Susquehanna (6-3, 1-0 LC) was searching early for a goal, but Soto wasn't letting that happen. She made three of her seven saves in the opening ten minutes.
Bailey Groff had Elizabethtown's (3-4, 0-1 LC) first opportunity on frame, though her shot was saved in the seventh minute.
Scoreless at halftime, the River Hawks picked up the offensive pressure in the second half, outshooting the Blue Jays, 9-2.
In the 79th minute, a cross came into Etown's box that took a deflection off a header and into the path of Delaney Morton, who was able to score to put Susquehanna ahead with just over ten minutes to go and would prove to be the game winner.
Elizabethtown will host Penn State Harrisburg on Tuesday, September 27, at 7 p.m.
