TOWSON, Md. - The Elizabethtown College women's tennis team dropped its third Landmark Conference match of the season, falling to Goucher 7-2 Saturday afternoon.
With the loss, the Blue Jays fall to 2-3 overall and 0-3 in the Landmark, while the Gophers improve to 4-8 on the season and 0-2 in the conference.
After each doubles match was decided by two games or less, Goucher took a 3-0 lead into the singles portion of the match. The Gophers, however, took control winning at #4, #2, #1, and #3 to secure its seven points. Senior
Maddy Binder found Etown's first win of the afternoon at #6 singles, topping Sara Healy, 6-2, 7-5. Sophomore
Kaylee Mustard followed up Binder's win with a come-from-behind 4-6, 6-3, 12-10 victory over Alex Digiovanni at #5 singles.
Elizabethtown is back in action tomorrow, April 10 at Catholic. Opening serve is set for 11 a.m.
