Softball swept at Susquehanna

ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. -- The Elizabethtown College softball team dropped a pair of Landmark Conference games at Susquehanna on Saturday. The River Hawks shut out the Blue Jays 2-0 in game one before taking game two 11-3 in five innings. Amelia Lark was 3-for-5 on the day  with two RBIs in game two for the Blue Jays.

GAME 1: Susquehanna 2, Elizabethtown 0
Elizabethtown (8-14, 1-5 Landmark) was able to outhit the River Hawks 6-4, but couldn't outscore Susquehanna (10-4, 2-0 Landmark) in the first game of the doubleheader.

The Blue Jays left seven runners on base in total and had a runner in scoring position in the first and fourth innings, but couldn't generate a run from it.

Susquehanna scored once in the fourth and once in the sixth and took game one, 2-0. Kaitlyn Witmer and Lark each had two hits for the Jays.

GAME 2: Susquehanna 11, Elizabethtown 3 (F/5)
Lark started off the top half of the first inning with a two-out, two-RBI single to left to give Etown a 2-0 lead. Kristen Aydelotte and Kadyn Crisswell scored on the play.

The River Hawks jumped on top in the bottom half with four runs and coupled that with another four runs in the second to get out ahead 8-2.

Ashley Mistichelli double to left to bring home Crisswell, who was on third after her fourth triple of the season.

That would be the final run for the Jays. Susquehanna was able to end game two in five innings after scoring twice in the fourth and another in the fifth to make it 11-3.

Crisswell, Mistichelli, Lark, and Grace Hussey each had a hit in game two.

Elizabethtown will play at Neumann for a non-conference doubleheader on Tuesday, April 5.
