YORK, Pa. - The Elizabethtown College men's lacrosse team fell to the #6 York, 17-6, in non-conference action Sunday afternoon.
With the loss, the Blue Jays fall to 5-5 overall while the Spartans improve to 5-2.
Senior
Owen Yake scored a game-high four goals. Senior
Nick Cost added two more assists to give him 10 for the weekend, while classmate
Micah Ballew added a goal and an assist.
Three different players finished with four points for York, paced by junior Will Harnick's four goals.
The Spartans took control of the game from the jump, running out to a 7-0 lead early in the second quarter before going into the intermission with a 10-1 advantage. The second half proved to be closer, but York continued to hold a 7-5 advantage on its way to the 17-6 win.Â
Sophomore
Brayden Franey (5-4) made 15 saves on 49 shots faced.
Alec Newman closed out his second consecutive game, making two saves,Â
Senior Jack Michael (5-2) made nine saves and allowed four goals in the win.
Sophomore
Connor Stewart finished with four ground balls and four caused turnovers while senior
Wes Mills matched him with four ground balls and one caused turnovers.
Elizabethtown is back in action on Saturday, April 2 at Drew. Opening face-off is set for 1 p.m.
