ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. -- Anna Charitonchick scored the first goal of the game for the Elizabethtown College women's lacrosse team, but Misericordia would hold them scoreless over the next two quarters as they went on to beat the Blue Jays, 17-3.
Kate Ziegler scored twice in the game and
Hannah Cressman had a pair of assists.
Charitonchick got her fourth goal of the season less than two minutes into Saturday's game. From an angle behind the goal, her intended pass out in front took a deflection off the goalie and into the cage to give Elizabethtown (1-6) a 1-0 lead.
Misericordia (3-3) got even two minutes after that, the start of a 13-0 run of unanswered goals. The Cougars led 11-1 at the half.
The Blue Jays were able to hold Misericordia to two goals in the third, but were unable to produce any of their own as they trailed 13-1 going into the fourth.
Ziegler picked up a pair of goals in the fourth, her 25th and 26th goals of the season. Cressman assisted on both tallies.
Elizabethtown will host Alvernia on Wednesday, March 23, at 4 p.m.
